How to Stop Chrome from Opening a New Tab for Every Search Click

Are you tired of Chrome opening a new tab for every search click? It can be annoying and time consuming to have to close each tab every time you search for something. Fortunately, there are a few simple steps you can take to stop Chrome from opening a new tab for every search click.

  • Open Chrome and click on the three dots in the top right corner

  • Select “Settings” from the menu

  • Scroll down to the “On startup” section and select the “Open a specific page or set of pages” option

  • Remove all of the websites from the list

  • Add websites back to the list by clicking on the “Add a new page” link

The first step is to open Chrome and click on the three dots in the top right corner. This will open a menu with several options. Select “Settings” from the menu.

Once you are in the settings menu, scroll down to the “On startup” section. Here you will find several options for how Chrome should open when you launch it. Select the “Open a specific page or set of pages” option and click on the “Set pages” link.

In the “Set pages” window, you will see a list of websites that Chrome will open when you launch it. To stop Chrome from opening a new tab for every search click, you will need to remove all of the websites from the list. To do this, click on the “X” next to each website and then click on the “OK” button.

Once you have removed all of the websites from the list, Chrome will no longer open a new tab for every search click. Instead, it will open the same tab that you were using when you clicked on the search button. This will save you time and make your browsing experience much more efficient.

If you want to add websites back to the list, you can do so by clicking on the “Add a new page” link and entering the website address.
